BiteSafe collects information you provide directly, including your email address when you join our waitlist, your name (optional), and any feedback you submit. When you use the BiteSafe app, we collect meal scan data, food journal entries, and usage analytics to improve our AI models.

2. How We Use Your Information

We use the information we collect to:

• Provide and improve the BiteSafe service
• Send you product updates and early access notifications
• Train and improve our food recognition AI models
• Generate personalized health insights (with your consent)
• Comply with legal obligations

3. Health Data

BiteSafe handles health-related data with the highest level of care. We are building toward full HIPAA compliance. Your food and glucose data is encrypted at rest using AES-256 and in transit using TLS 1.3. We never sell your health data to third parties.

4. Data Sharing

We do not sell, trade, or rent your personal information. We may share data with service providers who assist us in operating our platform (e.g., cloud hosting, analytics), subject to confidentiality agreements. Care team sharing features are opt-in and controlled entirely by you.

5. Data Retention

Waitlist emails are retained until you request deletion or the product launches. App data is retained for as long as your account is active. You may request deletion of your data at any time by contacting privacy@bitesafe.app.
